USPSTF recommends annual low-dose CT (LDCT) screening for adults aged 50–80 with ≥20 pack-year smoking history who currently smoke or quit within the past 15 years. Pack-years = (packs per day) × (years smoked). Risk increases with age, total exposure, continued smoking, and family history.
