Mean Arterial Pressure Calculator

Calculate MAP from systolic and diastolic BP.

About MAP

MAP = DBP + (SBP − DBP)/3. Also written as MAP = (SBP + 2×DBP)/3. MAP represents the average pressure in arteries during one cardiac cycle. A MAP of at least 60 mmHg is needed for adequate organ perfusion. In critical care, the target is typically MAP ≥ 65 mmHg. Pulse pressure (SBP − DBP) normally ranges 30–50 mmHg.
