Padua Prediction Score

Score ≥ 4 identifies high-risk medical patients with an 11% VTE rate without prophylaxis vs 0.3% in low-risk patients. Pharmacological thromboprophylaxis is recommended for scores ≥ 4 unless contraindicated. The score is validated in acutely ill medical inpatients and recommended by ACCP guidelines.
